I am a native of southwest Georgia but have made Virginia my home.  I came to Virginia as a Navy Air Traffic Controller in 1982. After a five-year enlistment at Naval Air Station Norfolk, I began working with the FAA.  Although the last thirty years has been dedicated to air traffic control, my specific area of interest is leadership.  I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Virginia Wesleyan College. Presently, I am perusing a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership.

I enjoy cooking, reading, and “hanging out” with my husband and grandchildren.

I enjoy the creativity of planning meetings; it has become a profession and a hobby.  My first appointment as a Meeting Planner occurred in 1984 under the administration of our National President Clifford Armstrong.  I served as the National Convention Coordinator for two years where I planned the second national meeting held in New York City in 1986 in conjunction with our Tenth Anniversary.  During that same time I was elected as the Eastern Region President and stepped down as the National Convention Coordinator.

I have also served as the President and Secretary of the New York Metro Chapter.
I established the Eastern Long Island and South Jersey Chapters during my administration as Regional President.  In addition, I consolidated the Eastern and New England Regions and renamed them the Northeast Region.

In September 2007 I retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as the Air Traffic Manager, Dulles Tower.  I have since started STC Consulting Services, LLC.  I thank God for the many blessings during my career and for my husband, three children and four grandchildren.

Ejide D. Fashina, NBCFAE member since 2008. Public Affairs Chairperson. Working as an Air Traffic Control Specialist at North Philadelphia Tower. When asked about her goals for 2010, she replied, “I plan to strengthen the NBCFAE Northeast Region’s ties with community based organizations within the African American community.

The major goals of Public Affairs this year is to expand the overall awareness of the NBCFAE Northeast Region within our community. It is our belief that NBCFAE-NE should not just be known only within the Federal sector, but an organization that is recognized throughout the community. We plan to strengthen the NBCFAE-NE Region’s ties with community based organizations that are already well known such as the NAACP, Urban League, etc.
